The World's Oldest Continuous Feudal State

The Sovereign Barony of Caux, along with the Republic of Molossia, is a founding member of the League of Small Nations.

The purpose of the League is to:

  • Advance the rights of small sovereign states,
  • Provide them with an international platform from which their voices may be heard among those of more powerful and influential states, and
  • Provide a forum where all interested states can engage in civilized, non-aligned and unbiased debate and discourse

Membership in the League of Small Nations is open to states which can demonstrably (through independent photographic, documentary or electronic means) meet the requirements for a state laid out in Article 1 of the Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States, to wit:

Article 1

The state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications:

(a) a permanent population;
(b) a defined territory;
(c) government; and
(d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states.
